One of my great pet peeves: The misuse of quotation marks.  Many people believe that quotation marks should be used to emphasize a word or phrase.

No.  They're not.

My WeatherCenter pal Mike Moss sent me a link to Unnecessary Quotes, a blog that collects pictures of those misused and abused quotation marks in action.

"Fresh" fruit cup, anyone?  Sushi-grade "salmon"?

WARNING: Since I last checked this site, there is a picture containing a four-letter word on there.  If you're sensitive about such things, don't click.
