Checking the Space Weather

We have plenty of bad weather around here -- from hurricanes to snowstorms. (Yes, if you're new to our area, we can have some major snowstorms!)
But how about geomagnetic storms, X-ray solar flares and solar winds? There's nothing like a coronal hole to mess up a vacation.
Spaceweather.com talks about the weird, rough conditions above the atmosphere. The site really makes it easy for the novice to understand.
NOAA also runs a space weather site with tons of information that I'm sure someone must understand.
I'd like to thank Brandon Warren, a science teacher at Middle Creek High School in Apex, for sending the spaceweather.com link. He says he uses that site in class, and his students enjoy it!
