Person County emu home after social media search
The owners of Doug, a Person County emu, celebrated his return on Tuesday after he spent at least one night on the loose.

HURDLE MILLS, N.C. — The owners of Doug, a Person County emu, celebrated his return on Tuesday after he spent at least one night on the loose.
Person County Animal Services posted to Facebook on Monday about an “emu at large” on Burlington Road.
Doug's owner posted warned neighbors Monday night that he was loose, but was "very friendly and curious" and "probably bedded down for the night.
By Tuesday afternoon, they shared photos of Doug's return home.
