Elm City wreck kills woman, injures six

Elm City, N.C. — A two-vehicle wreck north of Elm City early Sunday killed a Wilson woman and injured six others, state troopers said.

Troopers said that a vehicle on U.S. Highway 301 South crossed the median, near Stagehill Road, and struck a northbound vehicle around 3:30 a.m.

Barbara Ann Jones, 36, who was a passenger in the northbound vehicle, died.

Six other people were injured. There was no word on the extent of their injuries.
