Edgecombe County man charged with soliciting minor for sex acts

Jason William Gray, 49, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with the following:

• Four felony counts of dissemination of obscene material to a minor

• One felony count of solicitation of child by computer and appearing

• One felony count of indecent liberties with a minor

He was booked in the Alamance County Jail under a $150,000 bond.

An investigation began on June 19 in reference to a minor being solicited by an adult for sex acts. On Wednesday, officials learned Gray was traveling from Rocky Mount to a pre-determined location in Mebane to meet the minor.

Deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, Special Operations Division, Street Crimes Unit and Homeland Security Investigations, assisted in apprehending Gray.
