ECU grad among the dead in Orlando nightclub shooting
Shane Evan Tomlinson, who graduated from East Carolina University in December 2003, has been identified as one of the victims in Sunday's mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub.
Posted — UpdatedAccording to social media accounts and friends, Tomlinson managed and performed with the Florida group, The Frequency Band. He lived in Orlando.
“We are saddened to learn that one of our own was killed in this tragedy in Orlando,” said Chancellor Steve Ballard. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Shane’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
A candlelight vigil is planned for the East Carolina University and Greenville community at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Five Points Plaza.
Tomlinson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication with a minor in Business Administration.
