HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — Here's a national "holiday" I can definitely get behind.
Apparently, not only is Saturday Groundhog Day, but it's also Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, when we're all encouraged to tuck into a bowl of ice cream as soon as we get up in the morning.

Obviously, this one is really easy to celebrate at home. Just get some ice cream.

But, if this is one of those holidays where you really feel the need to mark it with the community, then head over to Maple View Farm in Hillsborough. The popular ice cream spot is marking Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day with a special event.

From 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, they'll be serving off of a special menu that will include ice cream with cereal and sweet toppings, hot waffle ice cream bowls, freshly made ice cream and pancake sundaes and more.

The event also doubles as a fundraiser to support the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke.

And, according to the farm, "Really! It's OK to wear your pjs."

Maple View is at 6900 Rocky Ridge Rd. in Hillsborough.
