Durham shooting victim dies; man wanted for murder

The Durham County Sheriff's Office upgraded charges against a Durham man Monday after the man he allegedly shot died of his wounds.

DURHAM, N.C. — The Durham County Sheriff's Office upgraded charges against a Durham man Monday after the man he allegedly shot died of his wounds.

Rashad Ahmad Adams, 20, is wanted for shooting James Warren Holsclaw, 21, on Wednesday at 1002 Cortez St.

Adams is described as a black man with brown eyes and black hair. He is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds, with tattoos on his chest, neck and left arm. Authorities said he may be driving a dark sedan like a Lincoln or Crown Victoria.

Deputies have searched Adams' last known address, at 110 Adlett Lane in Durham, but they couldn't locate him.

Deputies seized several pounds of marijuana, $2,625 in cash and two stolen weapons from the shooting scene. 

Authorities warn that Adams should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Sharon Burmahl at 919-560-0900.
