Durham police arrest suspect in murder of woman in Chatham County

Investigators with the Durham Police Department are looking for a suspect who has been charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found Aug. 25 in Chatham County.

DURHAM, N.C. — A suspect charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found Aug. 25 in Chatham County has been arrested.

Investigators said Bryan Jose Guzman is charged with the murder of Marlene Yamileth Portillo-Posada, 19. Her body was found in the woods in the 6400 block of NC 751 in Chatham County on Aug. 25. Officials said they learned she was apparently killed at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Chapel Hill Road in Durham.

Guzman, 18, was arrested Monday. He was thought to be driving a yellow 2006 Nissan Sentra with a black bumper and NC license PHP-4819.
