— Durham police are trying to identify a man they say robbed a BP convenience store at 3511 Hillsborough Road on April 11.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 50 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and 200 to 220 pounds. He was wearing a dark ball cap, sunglasses, a light-colored shirt, jeans and an earring in his right ear.

The man entered the business, brought a package of crackers to the register and gave the clerk $5 to pay for it. When the clerk opened the register, the suspect leaned over the counter and started grabbing money from the drawer. The clerk struggled with the man until he threatened to shoot her, although no gun was seen.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Salmon at 919-560-4582, ext. 29238 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
