Durham police arrest 25-year-old in connection with January homicide

Durham police on Thursday arrested a man wanted in a January homicide.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police on Thursday arrested a man wanted in a January homicide.

Shaheem Tyrone Williams, 25, of Wedgedale Avenue, is charged with one count of murder in the shooting death of Lensy Arnett Gill III.

Investigators found Gill, 25, lying at the intersection of Rosewood and Dayton streets at about 6:45 a.m. on Jan. 20. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police initially sought the public's help in finding Williams, who was arrested Thursday afternoon on Savannah Place by Durham police officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force.
