DURHAM, N.C. — A passenger died in a Durham car crash at around 10 p.m. Friday night. The man was taken taken to the hospital for serious injuries, but did not survive.

Officials said that Tara Fehl was driving her car when she collided with Victor Gonzalez, driving an SUV at Holloway Street and Lynn Road in Durham.

Fehl was driving east on Holloway Street and hit the front passenger side of Gonzalez's vehicle, according to police.

Police said that Gonzalez was making a left turn onto Lynn Road when he was hit.

Gonzalez's SUV overturned and landed on the driver side. He suffered from minor injuries and was treated for them at the scene.

A passenger in his car, Xavier Lee, 32, from Durham, was taken to the hospital. Lee died a short time later.

Fehl, who according to police hit Gonzalez's vehicle, also suffered from serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

At this time, officials said that it does not appear speed or impairment were factors in this crash.

No charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation by authorities.
