DURHAM, N.C. — Two Durham police officers were taken to the hospital following a crash Thursday morning.

Durham police said a patrol car was stopped on Holloway Street near Adams Street at about 9 a.m. when it was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck driven by David Martin Clarke, of Timberlake.

The crash caused the patrol car to spin 180 degrees, police said. Two officers inside the car were taken to a nearby hospital, but their conditions were unknown.

Police said Clarke was not injured and was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid and accident.
