Durham police link same suspect to two robberies

Durham police have asked for help from the public to identify a man they believe robbed two businesses just hours apart.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have asked for help from the public to identify a man they believe robbed two businesses just hours apart.

The man approached employees at the Family Dollar at 5178 Wake Forest Highway just before 10 p.m. on Oct. 30 with a bag over his hand, implying he had a weapon. He got away with money from that store and, about 5 hours later, police say a man wearing the same clothes used the same method to rob a Rite Aid at 200 North LaSalle St.

In both cases, the man was described as about six feet tall, thin and weather a gray hoodie and dark sunglasses.

Police asked that anyone who recognizes the man captured on a surveillance images call Durham police at 919-560-4440, ext. 29283 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
