DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police arrested a suspect without incident around 5 p.m. Saturday after a standoff at an apartment complex in the 900 block of Chalk Level Road where dozens of residents were displaced.

Officers responded to "assist a bondsmen who was attempting to serve a felony warrant," authorities said.

The man had barricaded himself in an attack connected to other apartments.

Neighbors told WRAL News that police told them around 10 a.m. that a suspect was armed and they must stay outside their apartment units.
