Durham police investigating after two shot, one in serious condition

Durham Police Capt. Melissa Bishop told WRAL News the incident happened at 415 Commonwealth St. in Durham, which is the CR Wood Park. Two victims sustained gunshot wounds, one which was considered life threatening.

Video from Sky 5 showed Durham police had the area marked off during the investigation. There was no word on if there were any suspects or if anyone was taken into custody.

Bishop also confirmed to WRAL a Durham officer was involved in a traffic accident while responding to the call. The accident happened at Angier Avenue and Commonwealth Street. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage to the front left corner.

The officer was not injured but the driver and passenger in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
