Durham police investigating after Tuesday evening shooting sends two men to hospital

Durham police are investigating the latest shooting on Tuesday, the fourth reported in less than 24 hours in the city.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were investigating the latest shooting on Tuesday, the fourth reported in less than 24 hours in the city.

Officials said they got a call shortly before 5:30 p.m. to a shooting near the intersection of West Club Boulevard and Watts Street. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was transported to Duke Regional Hospital with injuries that officials did not believe to be life-threatening.

A short time later, a woman arrived at Duke Regional Hospital with a man who had also been shot. She was also injured from flying debris. Both injuries also did not appear to be life-threatening.

Witnesses told police there were multiple shots fired from at least one vehicle. Officers found numerous shell casings in the area.

At least three other shootings have been reported in Durham since Monday evening, according to officials.
