Durham police investigate shooting

— Durham police were investigating a shooting in the 300 block of Wake Place that injured a man late Saturday morning.

Officers found a man lying in the roadway at Wake Place and Gurley Street around 11:30 a.m. He had an apparent gunshot wound to his abdominal area.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to Duke University Hospital.

Police did not release additional details about the shooting Saturday.
