Durham police investigate drive-by shooting

Police said a black SUV, possibly a Mercury Mountaineer, with tinted windows drove slowly by the house and an occupant of the vehicle fired at least two shots.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were investigating an apparent drive-by shooting at 716 Eva St. on Monday afternoon.

Police said a black SUV, possibly a Mercury Mountaineer, with tinted windows drove slowly by the house and an occupant of the vehicle fired at least two shots.

Two men standing on the porch were injured. One man was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the lower back. Both were taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment.
