Durham police investigate armed robbery

Durham police are seeking the public's help in their investigation of an armed robbery earlier this month in the 5500 block of Fortunes Ridge Drive.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are seeking the public's help in their investigation of an armed robbery earlier this month in the 5500 block of Fortunes Ridge Drive.

The victims were coming home from a store on Friday, Aug. 13, when two men robbed them at gunpoint at about 10:30 p.m., police said. A shot was fired during the robbery but no one was injured.

One robber was described as a black man, 18 to 25 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall with his hair in cornrows. The second robber was described as a black man, 18 to 25 years old and 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall.

The men fled in a dark 4-door sedan which resembled a mid-1990s import vehicle.
