Durham police catch robbery suspect after foot chase

Police caught an armed robbery suspect after a chase and search in the area of Collier Road and South Alston Avenue early Sunday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police officers caught an armed robbery suspect after a foot chase in a residential area early Sunday.
Officers chased the man they believe robbed a Kangaroo Mart, 2503 N.C. Highway 55, shortly before 5:30 a.m. The pursuit led into the area around South Alston Avenue and Collier Road.

Police brought in a K-9 unit and closed off roads in the area. They caught Kristopher Lanottis Page, 35, at 1536 Panoma St. at 6:15 a.m.

Page was charged with armed robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was being held in the Durham County Jail Sunday afternoon.

Page is under probation in Durham County for a 2007 conviction for unauthorized use of conveyance, according to state Department of Correction records.

His criminal record, including three convictions for common-law robbery and drug offenses, dates to 1992.
