Durham police ask for help to ID bank robber

Durham police distributed images Saturday of a man believed to have robbed a bank Friday afternoon. They asked for help to identify the man, who is described as heavyset and about 5 feet 11 inches tall.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police distributed images Saturday of a man believed to have robbed a bank Friday afternoon. They asked for help to identify the man, who is described as heavyset and about 5 feet 11 inches tall.

Police were called to the Truist Bank at 200 N. Mangum St. just before 4:30 p.m. Friday. They were told that a man entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The man said he had a gun, but no witnesses reported seeing a weapon.
