— A Durham pit bull rescue is asking for donations after taking in three dogs in serious need of medical attention.

Carolina Adopt-A-Bulls is asking for help with the veterinary bills for three dogs the organization is now fostering, all of which need special care after after surviving horrific abuse or near starvation.

Titus was found as a stray, having suffered severe burns on his back. Carolina Adopt-A-Bulls says he will require extensive medical care and will be at the vet for the next few weeks.

Esmeralda and Argos were found extremely emaciated and suffered some trauma, and will require bi-weekly vet care/lab work, high protein puppy food, multiple small feedings and time to recover.

"Titus (Sweet Baby Ray), Esmeralda and Argos need your help!!" the organization wrote on Facebook. "With foster offers we were able to rescue these three dogs this week in hopes of giving them a chance at a better life!!"

We're happy to report that Titus, who started hydrotherapy on January 16, looks like he's on the road to recovery and finding a loving forever home. Here's how he looked on January 19, 2020:

The rescue has an Amazon wishlist for all three dogs, and accepts donations via PayPal.
