DURHAM, N.C. — A pandemic is not keeping Durham resident Marc Moskovitz from sharing his musical talent with the world. Instead of just playing his cello inside his home, Moskovitz has the chance to play at the NFL Draft.

Since Moskovitz can't play his cello live on a stage, he sent in a recording along with five other musicians who are all "sequestered" from society, as he described it. His audio is going to be edited together and broadcasted live on Saturday at the Draft.

Leslie Odom Jr., singer and actor, was in charge of the performance. Moskovitz previously worked with before at the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, OH.

Moskovitz said he didn't have much time to prepare for the performance. Odom sent him the music and asked for the recording back in one night because it needed to be engineered, mixed and sent off to the NFL.

Moskovitz has not yet heard the final cut, and will be watching it on Saturday with the rest of the world.

"It's one of the ways musicians are trying to cope during this period where we can't get out and play our concerts," he said.
