DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man charged in connection with a bank robbery at the Wachovia at 300 Foushee St. last week surrendered to police Monday evening.

Derrick Reed Beulah, 37, of Hamlin Street, turned himself in at the Granville County Sheriff's Office. He was charged Saturday with robbery with a dangerous weapon, Durham police said.

A man wearing a long wig and makeup entered the bank on March 2, handed a teller a note which said he had a gun and demanded money in large bills, police said. The robber never showed a weapon. He was seen leaving the bank on a red or pink bicycle.
