Durham man shot in the face

Durham police were investigating a shooting that happened in the parking lot of 2809 Crest St. around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were investigating a shooting that happened in the parking lot of 2809 Crest St. around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers found a man sitting in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the face. Emergency crews took him to Duke University Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

Police withheld his name.

Investigators said they believe that numerous shots were fired in the parking lot area, one of which hit the man in the face. As of Wednesday morning, police did not have a motive or any suspects.
