DURHAM, N.C. — The family of a Durham man who has been missing for the past two weeks says he was abducted.

Shawn Burton, 44 and a father of six, is a loving guy who has no enemies, according to his wife. She fears for her safety, so she asked to speak to WRAL News anonymously.

"I can’t even explain it. I’m just holding up as much as I can for my kids. We have three small kids," she said.

The woman said she has been with Burton for 14 years. His children are all under the age of 10.

"They don't know about it yet," she said. "They just think he's out of town."

Burton left his home last Tuesday to work at Club 919 but never made it there, his wife said.

"He left the house at night and said that he was going to the club to promote an event that he had coming up," his wife said. "That was the last time I saw him."

The Durham Police Department posted on Facebook that Burton was reported missing on March 22. He was last seen on North Duke Street in Durham.

Burton's wife told WRAL News that the family believes he was abducted by a group of people. Durham police would not confirm if he was abducted or not.

"They said that they think there was some foul play involved," she said. "I don’t know who these people are. I don’t know what they did to him. I don’t know where he is."

Durham police said they found Burton's truck in Warren County. His family is planning to search the area on Saturday.

Burton's family is offering a $20,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
