DURHAM, N.C. — Gabe Fox-Peck, who graduated from Durham School of the Arts, is nominated for an Oscar for a song he co-produced for "Harriet."

Fox-Peck co-produced "Stand Up" with actress and singer Cynthia Erivo, who plays Harriet Tubman in the film, and Joshuah Campbell, a peer he met at Harvard University. According to The Harvard Gazette, Fox-Peck graduated in December with degrees in comparative religion and African and African American studies.

"Harriet" tells the true story of Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of America's greatest heroes.
