Durham man dies after being hit with bat, run over by vehicle

A man injured Wednesday night during a fight in parking lot at an apartment complex at 1315 Morreene Road died Thursday as a result of his injuries, according to Durham police.

DURHAM, N.C. — A man injured Wednesday night during a fight in parking lot at an apartment complex at 1315 Morreene Road died Thursday as a result of his injuries, according to Durham police.

Officers were dispatched to a fight call at Chapel Towers Apartments at 7:38 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they found a man who had been hit with a baseball bat and then run over by a vehicle.

The man, Humberto Reyes, 25, was taken to Duke University Hospital where he died Thursday evening, police said.

No charges have been filed, but investigators said they are following several leads.
