Durham man charged in March slaying

DURHAM, N.C. — Police arrested a Durham man Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting in March.

Thorne Denicholas Rogers, 23, of Ruth Street, was charged with murder in the March 22 slaying of Marko Thornton.

Thornton, 21, of Butner, was shot in a car in the parking lot of Two Brothers convenience store, at 3310 Dearborn Drive. He died at Duke University Hospital.

Police didn't release any other details in the case, such as a possible motive or what evidence led to Rogers' arrest.
