A Durham man has been arrested after a larceny at a Roxboro Walmart led to a police chase Friday night.

A Durham man has been arrested after a larceny at a Roxboro Walmart led to a police chase Friday night.

Roxboro police said officers tried to stop a vehicle involved in the Walmart incident at about 7:30 p.m., but the driver fled.

Speeds topped 90 mph during the chase, which ended near Roxboro Street and E. Umstead Street in Durham.

Jay-Ron Poole, 39, of Durham, was charged with misdemeanor larceny and resisting, delaying or obstructing justice.

Poole was being held in the Person County Jail under a $15,000 secured bond.

Police said they are still searching for the driver involved in the incident. Anybody with information is asked to call Roxboro police at 336-599-8345.
