Durham gang member found shot to death along Alamance road

A Durham man authorities say was affiliated with gangs was found dead last week on the side of a road in rural Alamance County, authorities said Tuesday.

SWEPSONVILLE, N.C. — A Durham man authorities say was affiliated with gangs was found dead last week on the side of a road in rural Alamance County, authorities said Tuesday.

The body of Jamel Ramel Haskins, 28, was found along Brucewood Road, southeast of Swepsonville, at about 9 a.m. Friday. He had been shot.

"The location of his death appears to be an isolated incident, with no known ties to the neighborhood where his body was found," the Alamance County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
