Fire truck crash in Durham
DURHAM, N.C. — A firefighter who was driving a fire truck was not seriously injured in a crash in Durham on Friday.

Durham police said the fire truck was not heading to a call when the crash happened. The firefighter tried to avoid a driver who crossed the center line, drove the truck off the road and into a culvert. The crash damaged the whole front end of the truck.

The firefighter was taken to the hospital for a cut on his knee that possibly needed stitches.

Traffic on Farrington Road was slowed due to the crash, clean-up and investigation. The truck was later towed away.
