Durham commissioner will not run for mayor

Durham, N.C. — Joe Bowser, a member of the Durham County Board of Commissioners, has withdrawn his name from consideration for the mayor's office.

Bowser had been reported to be considering a run for mayor of Durham. He said he has decided not to seek that office, and will focus on his county duties instead.
