APEX, N.C. — Dunkin' has teamed up with an Apex brewery to release its first kombucha, the company announced this week.
Southern Peak Brewery partnered with the brand to create Dunkin’ Espresso Kombucha, the only kombucha in the country to include Dunkin’ espresso beans which were cold-brewed in-house at Southern Peak.

Kombucha is a fermented black tea that is slightly alcoholic. It features sweet and sour notes.

Southern Peak Brewing, located at 950 Windy Road, will start offering this 10-ounce kombucha brew at its tap room starting Saturday. There will be a launch party starting at noon.

Three dollars per drink will go to benefit Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation will be matching the amount of money raised.

“With the recent launch of Dunkin’s brand-new handcrafted espresso experience, we knew that the recipe’s stronger and more robust flavor profile was the perfect match for kombucha, a growing favorite beverage among consumers,” Dunkin’ Integrated Marketing Manager Melissa Goulette. “To give it a local flare, we partnered with a craft-focused brewery who specializes in kombucha. Similar to Dunkin’, their mission is to serve as a focal point in the community where neighbors, friends and colleagues can gather and socialize.”
