SHARPSBURG, N.C. — The Sharpsburg Police Department conducted a drug raid at the Holiday Motel on Thursday.

Inside guest room 12, officers found 3.5 grams of crack cocaine and numerous items of drug paraphernalia, Chief B.C. Bissette said in a release.

Anthony Lee Pittman, 39, was arrested on felony charges of sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell cocaine and maintaining a dwelling with the intent to sell and distribute cocaine.

Bissette said the drug raid was the result of a multi-agency effort to combat illegal drug sales in the area.

Sharpsburg lies at the intersection of Edgecombe, Nash and Wilson counties.
