Drone accidentally drops off several pounds of weed, tobacco at high school

A drone carrying a packaged filled with marijuana, tobacco and three cell phones landed on school grounds in Brunswick County, Virginia. Investigators say this package was meant to be dropped off at the Lawrenceville Correctional Center.

LAWRENCEVILLE, VA. — A drone carrying a package filled with marijuana, tobacco and three cell phones landed on school grounds in Brunswick County, Virginia on Monday. Investigators say this package was meant to be dropped off at the Lawrenceville Correctional Center.
Officials found pounds of weed and tobacco that was dropped off accidentally at a local high school

"We have had numerous calls for service at the prison this year to include other drone sightings alleging the same criminal activity," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook.

Officials found three cell phones in a package dropped off at the local high school

Shortly after the package landed at around 5 a.m., someone came by school grounds to pick it up. Investigators interviewed that person and seized the package.
