Smithfield, N.C. — Drivers in Johnston County reported seeing a bull along Interstate 40 on Sunday morning, county 911 dispatch supervisor Jason Thompson said.
Just after 9 a.m., the bull was spotted near mile-marker 334. Thompson said the bull walked onto I-40 multiple times. There were no accidents.
The state Highway Patrol and a local farmer helped corner the bull and remove it from the area.
It was not clear how the bull ended up along I-40.
