<b>ZEBULON, N.C.</b> — A driver was pinned inside their car after crashing into a tree in northern Johnston County on Monday morning.

The single-car crash happened along N.C. Highway 39 near Wilder Road. The roof of the car was removed by first responders so the person could be taken out.

The driver has life-threatening injuries.

One lane of the highway was closed as the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded.
