FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Country Club Drive in Fayetteville was shut down for several hours early Monday because of a wreck, authorities said.

Fayetteville police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Country Club Drive near the intersection with Ramsey Street about 3 a.m. and found a 2005 Dodge Durango that had run off the roadway and hit a utility pole.

The driver fled the scene of the crash, so it was unclear whether the person suffered injuries.

The road reopened about 7:30 a.m., after crews repaired the pole.

Anyone with information about the driver is asked to call Fayetteville police at 910-433-1830 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477. Crime Stoppers pays cash for information leading to an arrest, and callers may remain confidential.
