Driver Runs off Road, Kills 4 in Elon
A woman crashed into a group of people on the side of the road who were trying to hook a stalled car onto a trailer, police said. Four of the five people who were in that group were killed. A fifth person was taken to the hospital.

A woman crashed into a group of people on the side of the road who were trying to hook a stalled car onto a trailer, police said. Four of the five people who were in that group were killed. A fifth person was taken to the hospital.
The driver of the car that plowed into the group was also taken to the hospital.
Alcohol was not a factor, officials said, but they are not sure what caused the wreck.
Two of the victims were identified as Mildred Isley, 57, of Graham, and Michael King, 43, of Swepsonville.
