CAMERON, N.C. — One person was killed and another was injured following a head-on collision Monday night in Moore County.

Authorities said a Honda Civic and Chevrolet pick-up truck crashed on N.C. Highway 24/27 near Glenwood Farms Road at about 5:30 p.m.

Authorities said the 27-year-old driver of the Honda was pinned inside the vehicle and special tools were required to free her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to First Health Moore Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of family members.

Authorities did not say what caused the crash, which remains under investigation.
