RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are looking for the person responsible for knocking out a gas meter at a Raleigh shopping center Friday night.

A hazmat crew was called to respond to a gas leak at the Plantation Square Shopping Center at 6320 Capital Blvd., police said, after a driver hit the wall of a store in the center.

Part of Old Wake Forest Road between Capital Boulevard and Town Center Drive was temporarily shut down as a precaution. Most of the businesses in the area were already closed.

There were no reports of injuries.

Authorities did not have a description of the vehicle and were still looking for the driver late Friday.
