Driver killed in one-car Raleigh crash

A 20-year-old Garner man was killed Saturday morning when he lost control on a sharp curve and ran off the roadway into some woods, Raleigh police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 20-year-old Garner man was killed Saturday morning when he lost control on a sharp curve and ran off the roadway into some woods, Raleigh police said.

The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. when Gustavo Ruiz Jr. was heading east on Tryon Road between Withers Road and Par Drive. 

The driver's side of Ruiz's car struck a tree. The cause of the wreck is under investigation.

No other information was released.
