Driver killed in Henderson wreck
Investigators say Robert Lee Adkins, 47, of 21 Begonia Lane, died when his SUV went too fast around a curve on Brookston Road, and hit a ditch. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.
Posted — UpdatedHENDERSON, N.C. — A man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Henderson late Sunday, troopers said.
Investigators say Robert Lee Adkins, 47, of 21 Begonia Lane, died when his SUV went too fast around a curve on Brookston Road, and hit a ditch. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.
Troopers said alcohol and speed were factors in the wreck.
Adkins was the only person in the vehicle.
