Driver killed in fiery Nash County crash

One person died Saturday in a fiery crash in Nash County.

SPRING HOPE, N.C. — One person died Saturday in a fiery crash in Nash County.

According to the N.C. State Highway Patrol, a driver lost control of their car around 10:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 64 near Exit 450 and Spring Hope.

The car, which was headed west, slammed into a bridge support and ended up in the eastbound lanes. The car caught fire, and officials said the driver died at the scene.

All eastbound traffic was detoured around the accident scene until about 2 a.m.
