Driver killed in crash tried to choke Biscoe police officer after chase

A suspect died in a police chase involving both the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office land the Biscoe Police Department late Thursday night.

BISCOE, N.C. — A speeding driver died in a police chase on Friday at around 11 p.m. along North Carolina Highway 24/27 near the Montgomery-Moore County line.

Sheriff's deputies said the chase started in Montgomery County and ended at N.C. 24/27 near McDuffie Road.

Authorities said that the driver lost control of his vehicle, overturned and crashed into a tree. Both the driver and the passenger were not wearing seatbelts, according to State Highway Patrol.

Chase D'Carlo Bruton, 24, from Charlotte, died at the scene due to injuries from the crash. Before dying, he tried to choke a Biscoe police officer who was helping him, officials said.

A passenger in his vehicle, Emanuel Lamont Clark Allen, 28, from Norwood, was seriously injured and airlifted to WakeMed by a helicopter.
