Driver injured in fiery crash after crashing into oil tanker in Cary
One person was taken to the hospital after a vehicle they were driving crashed into the rear of a gasoline tanker truck on Wednesday.
Posted — UpdatedRALEIGH, N.C. — A driver was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after their car crashed into the rear of a gasoline tanker truck on U.S. Highway 1 in Cary.
The crash happened on U.S. 1 near Tryon Road in Cary around 11 p.m. Town of Cary officials said a passerby stopped to help rescue the driver before the car caught fire. The driver was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh with serious injuries.
Cary police remained on the scene for more than three hours investigating.
