Driver found dead after single-car wreck in Durham

Durham, N.C. — Durham homicide investigators were called to the scene of a single-car crash Saturday afternoon to figure out how the driver died.
Kammie Michael, a spokeswoman for the Durham Police Department, said the car was exiting the Durham Freeway (N.C. Highway 147) at Fayetteville Road when it went through a fence and hit a tree.
The driver, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene, Michael said. He appeared to have been shot.
