Driver crashes in Selma, texts in ambulance

Selma, N.C. — A man was taken to WakeMed Saturday morning after crashing his vehicle near U.S. Highway 70 and Oak Street in Selma around 8:30 a.m.
The man's name was not released. Deputies said he experienced trauma but was able to send text messages on his phone as emergency workers loaded him into an ambulance. Deputies said they do not think alcohol played a role in the crash.
No other information was released.
